I’ve been reading Tapworthy: Designing Great iPhone Apps book by Josh Clark for a while. Not because I am trying to be a designer, I just want to see principles behind user interface design and user experience.

First book is written in 2010, since then iPhone is not changed but the UI examples given in the book are a little bit poor compared to today’s quite fancy apps. That’s when I realized how humankind made a huge progress in app UI designs. (:

Although the book tells about iOS UI design principles and inspects every UI element in detail very well, it is a no brainer. I am no design guy and I knew almost all of it. You can conclude the same principles when you think just a little bit from user’s point of view and actually use your app for a while.

Maybe people didn’t use to know these principles back in 2010 but today it would be enough to read a few blog posts on iPhone app design principles.

Overall, I had a good time reading it but I am not satisfied with the contents. I am planning to buy The App Design Handbook these days, it is more design-oriented and reviews modern apps.
